Chemical Peels, Dermaplaning and SkinRestore Programs
Chemical Peels have been used for decades in medical cosmetology.
They work by chemically removing the outermost layer of the skin and give the skin a younger, healthier appearance.
Chemical Peels play a very important role in Skin Rejuvenation as they remove skin dullness, blotching, age and sun spots and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. The Dermaplaning treatment will gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells and remove fine facial hair commonly known as “peach fuzz”. it can be used as an alternative to laser treatments and microdermabrasion or along with them for an enhanced result. This procedure will give your skin a more radiant appearance. Following the treatment, makeup glides on smoother and other skincare products are able to penetrate deeper in turn making them more effective. Dermaplaning is often paired with chemical peels or facials for better penetration of products and amazing end results.

How does it work?
The treatment is performed using a tool to gently exfoliate dead skin cells which removes the vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz”, which can trap excess dirt and oil. Skin will instantly be smoother in appearance. Hair will not grow back coarser or darker, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.
Benefits:
- Minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Increases the skin’s ability to absorb products better therefore this procedure is often paired with a chemical peel or facial
- Reduces the appearance of hyper-pigmentation
- Stimulates circulation
- Encourages normal shedding (desquamation) of the stratum corneum
- Improves hydration
What to expect:
The Dermaplaning treatment is painless and comfortable. it takes about 35-45 minutes. There is no downtime associated with this procedure. You will leave with fresh, smooth looking skin. Dermaplaning can be done as often as every two weeks, although it is usually done when vellus hair starts to grow back, which is approximately in one month’s time.
Indications:
- Dermaplaning is most often used on patients with rough, dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance.
- This is a great treatment if you are pregnant or nursing and want exfoliation without the risk of harsh chemicals absorbing into the blood stream and potentially harming your baby.
Contraindications:
- Dermaplaning is not recommended for those with active acne or extremely oily skin.
