There is just enough pressure to move the skin and to stimulate the lymphatic system by pushing lymph fluid that may be stuck in a certain area to filter out of the body naturally. This type of massage is very beneficial to clients who suffer from lymphedema, and post operative edema (swelling)

Lomi lomi Massage
The therapist will work intuitively with your body, with fluid, rhythmic strokes to release and shift tensions. The treatment is slow and relaxing. You might find that the therapist massages two different parts of your body simultaneously - this is to stop your brain from focusing on any one area and therefore helps to aid relaxation. Your therapist may make full-body strokes, lightly stretch your limbs and carefully rotate your joints. These techniques are thought to free up your energy flow.
Lomi lomi aims to treat the body and mind as one whole being. It is thought to:
• release tension
• assist blood and lymph flow
• eliminate waste and stimulate toxins
• rejuvenate the body
• instill a sense of peace, harmony and wellbeing.

***Please note that pregnancy beds or pregnancy pillows where the client is face down are no longer best practice. They have been shown to be unsafe for both mom and baby therefore we will not use them in our facility. Some risks are: increased intra-uterine pressure, they can negatively impact fetal blood supply, SI joints can be harmfully rotated in this prone position, increased strain on sacro-uterine ligaments, lumbosacral junction and lumbar vertebrae may be compressed and anteriorly displaced. The safest position is sidelying and semi-seated and our fully electronic massage beds can ensure you still get a very comfortable, safe and effective treatment.
Hot Stone Massage
Connect with the Earth’s balancing energy as warm, smooth stones create a soothing, restorative massage. Hot Stone Massage is a deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment, which uses heated, smooth, volcanic stones placed on key points of the body. The stones have an extraordinary energy and with the right combination of heat, oil and an experienced therapist, the treatment is deeply healing. The long, slow, firm strokes performed allow the heat from the stones a greater chance to penetrate past the superficial tissues to reach deep muscle layers. The heat from the stones increases blood flow to the area enabling deep muscular tension to be released. Like normal massage the pressure used is adjusted to suit your comfort level. It is generally accepted that one stroke of a heated basalt stone is equivalent to 5 strokes of the therapists hand. ***Please Note this Massage is contraindicated for people with High Blood Pressure, Parasthesia, Diabetes and Pregnancy. Your Therapist can refuse treatment if they feel it is unsafe.
Some benefits of thermotherapy (hot stone therapy) include:

Reflexology
Reflexology can be traced back as far as 2500BC and has roots in the ancient civilizations of Egypt, China, Primitive Africa and the Native Indian Tribes of America. Reflexology works on the principle that all of the body's organs and structures are mirror imaged on the feet. By using holds and pressure techniques you are stimulating the flow of energy to the corresponding parts of the body. This allows the acceleration of the healing to take place on these specific body parts. Therefore by treating both feet you are treating the whole body. Reflexology detects and clears most energy blockages found in your body, making it a great way to treat most conditions. Therapeutic foot reflexology treatments stimulate the nerves in the feet that send important signals to the brain triggering a response in the body. Through stimulation of the reflexes of the feet to reduce stress, relieve tension, improve circulation and lymph flow and supports the body's efforts to function optimally. It can bring soothing stress relief and relaxation to the mind, body and spirit. Suitable for all ages; brings relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
RAPID Neurofascial Reset
RAPID is a type of massage that treats aches and pains by focusing on the nerves rather than muscle tissue. It’s a lotion-free technique, so the client remains clothed, and the treatment is movement-based to encourage the client to perform active motion.
The purpose of RAPID is to reset nerve back to neutral. The high intensity of the technique along with the client’s active movements allows the body to downgrade pain and reprogram sensory information processed by the brain. This then causes an immediate change in how the body responds to what it’s now feeling. It’s for this reason that treatment lengths are shorter and the results last longer. Movement and return to activity are highly encouraged after a RAPID treatment to reinforce the changes created by the body.
RAPID doesn’t physically alter tissues, it’s just changing the information from the nerves, so it’s able to be used for many conditions and contributes greatly to faster healing.
Cupping
Chinese cupping therapy is a process of suctioning or vacuuming sections of the body's meridian system for the purpose of drawing out toxins, pain management, increasing blood flow, and promoting a healthier flow of chi energies. Add this treatment on to any Swedish, Deep Tissue or Therapeutic Massage.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM)
These techniques have been developed to allow therapists to find and treat affected areas with greater precision. These specialized instruments break down fascia (connective tissue) constraints as well as scar tissue. The varying speeds and pressures work to either encourage or prevent muscular contraction (also known as turning a muscle on/off). A minor inflammatory response is generated when particular levels of pressure are given to the afflicted muscles, tendons, or ligaments through IASTM. Although it may seem counterintuitive, inflammation promotes the body’s natural healing mechanism, allowing you to recover and return to your life quickly!
IASTM have bee proven to help with:
- Motor control issues
- Limited motion
- Muscle recruitment issues
- Pain with movement
